The FIFA U-17 World Cup 2023 is scheduled to kick off on November 10 and will culminate on December 2 in Indonesia.
This biennial international men's youth football tournament features the participation of under-17 national teams from FIFA member associations. Notably, this event marks Indonesia's inaugural hosting of a FIFA tournament and signifies the first time the FIFA U-17 World Cup is taking place in Southeast Asia.
A total of 24 teams will vie for the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2023 title through 52 matches. The teams are organized into six groups, each consisting of four teams. In the round-robin format, every team plays against the others in its group once. The top two teams from each group, along with the four best third-placed teams, will progress to the round of 16.
The knockout stage includes four quarter-finals, two semi-finals, a third-place playoff, and the highly anticipated FIFA U-17 World Cup 2023 final.
Four distinguished venues have been selected to host the matches: Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, Manahan Stadium, Jakarta International Stadium, and Jalak Harupat Stadium.
Brazil enters the competition as the defending champions, having secured a 2-1 victory over Mexico in the 2019 final. Nigeria boasts the most successful track record in the tournament's history with a total of five titles.
